tiling flowers and leaves

Installation continues at a steady pace. We are often working under a tarp during school hours, talking with families when they come to pick up their kids. One father was pleased to find his wife’s native language of Vietnamese embedded in the sun; a grandfather was excited to spot the Nepali word for leaf on a tile.

In addition to the words written in the many languages of Grout students are lines of poetry written by 2nd & 3rd graders in Lisa Van Clock’s class three years ago.
